When we we see the word love what pops up into your mind? A big heart sign? Roses? Kisses and hugs? Now lets ask the same question to a random tween or teen in India . The results vary greatly from urban to semi - urban to rural setting of the young person. One might think of this phenomenon as mere cultural or societal difference BUT it has a HUGE roleplay in the younger ones whole life.

In what ways one may ask, such are stigmas with love relationships , health concerning men, women and transgenders, and of course sexual awareness. These are simply heavy wordings to many , and hold no concern to others but to few like us these words matter. A LOT . How? It is like so that more often that not there are instances in India regardless of its setting ,we can find a large section of students dropping out of educational institutions and marrying off. In majority of them parents of both parties stay remarkably oblivious to any relationship fostered between the betrothed pair.

Then what happens we all somewhat know the drill. In some cases , both parties are quite literally torn apart for seemingly justifiable reasons by parents or authorities and in others the young couple gets stuck into the vicious cycle of struggle without any help from the latter. With that all being said , in no means do I support or endorse premature marriages . ONE MUST ONLY GET MARRIED WHEN THEY ARE OF LEGAL AGE . However, to prevent this plight of parents and children alike, conscious efforts and changes needs to be made .

Its high time that Indian parents start talking more of love with love. They must at once stop making love a taboo and show them the example of the kind of love relationship their wards deserve and train them not to settle for anything less. We cannot change past but we definitely CAN change the future for better. Our previous generation had the excuse of not has resources at their disposal ,like us. Now, do WE have an excuse, dear reader?
